First time student at UT Martin this fall? Apply today!
Every year we offer thousands of dollars in scholarship money to first-time students at UT Martin who embody the principles of the Balanced Man. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000.
Our aim is to recognize and reward those who have demonstrated a commitment to a Sound Mind and Sound Body, the two pillars of what we call The Balanced Man. SigEp subscribes to the ancient Greek belief that the mind is central to humanity and that the body serves as a vessel for the mind, and thus the exercise of both is necessary for a balanced life.
Winners are announced during the Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship Banquet each fall. You can read about our 2019 recipients where we awarded $2,000 in scholarships to three outstanding members of the Class of 2023.
The Balanced Man Scholarship is open to first-time students at UT Martin, whether you are an incoming freshman or a transfer student. It is an equal opportunity scholarship, without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, and parental status. Scholarship recipients are in no way obligated to join or affiliate with Sigma Phi Epsilon or any other greek organization.
In short, if you are attending UT Martin this fall for the first time, we encourage you to apply.
The Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship is listed with the UT Martin Office of Financial Aid, under the "Other UTM Scholarships" section. That site includes several major- and department-specific scholarships. We encourage you to take advantage of all available financial aid!
