The UT Martin Office of Student Life and Multicultural Affairs announced Wednesday evening that Sigma Phi Epsilon is again the recipient of the Chancellor’s Cup for the Interfraternity Council (IFC). The award, presented by Dr. Keith Carver during a virtual ceremony because of ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, recognizes the top chapter in each of the university’s three greek councils.
It was the second consecutive year that the chapter has won the award.
The event also highlighted the chapter’s academic performance, beating the all-student average by a wide margin for both the fall and spring semesters and leading all IFC fraternity for Fall 2020.
UT Martin SigEp was committed to service learning projects even during the pandemic in 2020. The organization served food at a Soul Food Café event in Union City to help feed those in need. Brothers partnered with the Special Olympics to host an Athlete Training Night. They raised money for the American Cancer Society and participated in the annual Relay for Life event. The chapter also participated in Greekfest Service Night, packing meals for WeCare Ministries along with other greek organizations.
